Custom business tools & AI workflows
Some projects start with a spreadsheet, a repeated handoff, or information scattered across several apps. I build custom tools and integrations around those tasks. A new public website is not a requirement.
Work directly with Corbin LaCount, an independent designer, developer, and systems engineer in northwest Washington. Remote projects are welcome.
Talk about your projectStart with one recurring task
Walk through the inputs, decisions, people, and output of the work. We identify where information is copied, where someone waits, and which decisions need a person. That gives the project a concrete boundary and a way to check whether the resulting tool does what was agreed.
Choose the right interface
The result might be an internal dashboard, a connection between existing apps, a document workflow, or a standalone application. We choose an interface around who will use it, the systems already in place, and the permissions needed to read or change information.
Give AI a defined role
An AI feature can help with a scoped task such as reviewing documents or answering questions from approved material. We define its source information, access, review steps, and handling of uncertain results. Actions that change business records need explicit boundaries and verification, just like any other integration.
What we can scope together
- Workflow mapping and feasibility
- Internal dashboards or standalone tools
- Connections to supported app interfaces
- Scoped AI assistance with review steps
- Access rules, error handling, and handoff
We agree on deliverables, content responsibilities, verification, and handoff before implementation. The tools and provider access available help determine the scope.

Questions about this service
Do custom tools have to be attached to a website?
No. A standalone application or a connection between the tools you already use can be the entire project.
Should every automated workflow use AI?
No. Clear, repeatable rules often suit ordinary code. We consider AI when the task benefits from it and define how its output is checked before it affects the rest of the workflow.
